“A Máquina do Tempo” is a short film imagined and scripted by a group of children—Black, Indigenous, and European—who playfully confront Brazil’s history through creativity and empathy. When they learn about the genocide of Indigenous peoples, six-year-old Violeta and four-year-old Arthur invent a time machine to go back and help. Though the children didn’t operate the camera or edit the final cut, the story, interviews, and props are entirely their own, making this film a heartfelt tribute to curiosity, compassion, and the power of young voices.
